Skyscape Week- Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary
In the spirit of fair reporting I've decided to branch out and deviate from the norm. Instead of using the "other" medical dictionary, you know the one everyone got with their AMA membership (I never joined btw), and incase you can't figure out what I'm talking about, it starts with an S and a sister publication of it was reviewed yesterday! So today I'm reviewing the Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary.
I'll start by saying that I like it. I'm definitely not in love with it since I feel like the definitions leave a lot to be desired. But if you're looking for a fully functional and concise medical dictionary, this is the appropriate program for you. One thing that I love is the fact that it lists synonyms along with the definitions and the synonyms are hot-linked to their definition. Definitely a useful program, but I'd appreciate a little more umph in the definitions. Maybe that other "S" dictionary has a little more? I'll do my best to get a copy and get back to you!
