Impressions on ActiveWords

Well, I read a lot of people talking about the productivity program called ActiveWords. Basically it is something that makes you use the keyboard only instead of the mouse, greatly simplifying the entire computer interaction.

So I gave it a shot. I downloaded a 60-day trial version of ActiveWords Plus. Installation was smooth. I have been using it for 30 minutes, and there are definitely a few things that I like:
- it is able to substitute chunks of text with just a few keystrokes. Useful to keep common e-mail templates, common misspellings etc.
- it will easily go (and detect) commonly used websites.
- it does the same for commonly used applications

There are scripting capabilities, but I haven't gotten that far yet. I am trying to evaluate whether this will really work with me. I don't mind using the mouse, but I wish things were closer to my fingertips, so I could focus on writing rather than going back and forth to grab the mouse. There is this person's report on how hooked he is on this piece of software.
