Palmdoc may go Windows Mobile
Our friend Palmdoc from the Palmdoc Chronicles posted about maybe switching to a Windows Mobile device.
I think this is a bit sad to see, because even though I am a Windows Mobile user, having a good alternative OS is a big plus for consumers. Heck, if Palm OS gets better, why not switch back to Palm OS ? Unfortunately it seems that Windows Mobile is getting more and more common and there is no sign that Palm OS will recover (at least not in the short term).
I am currently using a Dell Axim X30. It is running WM 2003, and I am quite happy with it. Pocket Informat is a *great* PIM, and I have no problems recommending it.
To be completely honest, I still miss the instant response of my Palm OS-based PDAs. Windows Mobile has a lot of eye candy, but the bottom-line is that it is definitely slower. The Word/Excel apps that comes with Windows Mobile are almost worthless. Internet Explorer is not different. So in the end I think there is *a lot* to improve in Windows Mobile.

Actually I'll still have my T5 but they way things are going at palmOne, I don't want to be left too far behind in PPCland should palmOne continue on their path to self-destruction.

I READ YOUR ARTICLE AND HAVE SPOKEN WITH NUMEROUS SERVICE AGENTS AT RETAIL STORES...DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHEN CONVERSION PROGRAMS WILL BE AVAILABLE? I HAVE VAST AMOUNTS OF MEDICAL SOFTWARE AND WOULD PERFER NOT TO HAVE TO REPURCHASE FOR A NEW PPC. THANK YOU
