InfoPOEMs - a nice resource

I just found an application that is called infoPOEMs, or what they describe as Patient Oriented Evidence that Matters. It is a subscription-based service, that gives users continuous updates in the medical literature. It has a desktop client as well as a PalmOS and Pocket PC client.

There is a trial available, which I will get later, but from the looks of it, it appears really good. Maybe it is not a new thing, but it's the first time I come across it. From what I hear from other residents, students and staff, no one mentioned this product...

A few lines from their pages:

"Within seconds, you are presented with search results from all InfoPOEMs, all Cochrane Systematic Review abstracts, more than 200 decision rules, 2,200 predictive calculators, over 700 summaries of evidence-based practice guidelines, and more. Plus, the full 5-Minute Clinical Consult, including photos
Many extras, such as an ICD9 look-up to find the right codes fast, an E/M coding assistant for payments, guided searches of Medline and other Internet references, and 100s of indexed links to patient-education materials on the Web.
All results are organized and presented for immediate application to your practice, designed by clinicians for clinicians.

Ongoing since 1996, our editors now review more than 1,200 studies monthly from 100+ medical journals, presenting only the best as InfoPOEMs.
The acclaimed POEMs process applies specific criteria for validity and relevance to clinical practice. About 1 in 40 studies qualifies."

Take a look at InfoPOEMs
