Free access to NIH-funded research results

Finally, someone that thinks that research results should be accessible by everyone, for free. The NIH is proposing a change that mandates that the results of NIH-funded research should be made available to the public for free. An article was published today on the Washington Post.

Of course journals are unhappy, but I think about people who are in places where they can not afford all these expensive journals...how can they read about the latest discoveries in Medicine ?

Hopefully this will bring some more discussion about this topic, and will make Science more accessible to all of us.
