Handyheart 1.01 for Pocket PC

HandyHeart is a freeware developed by the makers of HandyCards. This utility essentially provides a lot of very useful information about common problems in Cardiology:

  • NCEP Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Cholesterol in Adults (Adult Treatment Panel III = ATPIII)
  • Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Pressure, seventh report (JNC7)
  • ACC/AHA Guidelines for Perioperative Cardiovascular Evaluations for Noncardiac Surgery
  • ACC/AHA Guidelines for the Management of Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction
  • Heart sounds
  • Cardiovascular medications
  • Cholesterol medications

I think the most useful tools for clinical practice are the ATPIII guidelines, JNC7, the periop eval guidelines and the AMI guidelines. For medical students (and residents) the Heart Sounds module is pretty cool.

Considering that this is a freeware, there is no reason not to download it. Plus, you can beam it to other Pocket PC users.

Take a look at their website.
