Sony quits the US handheld market

Very unfortunately, Sony is no longer going to sell their Clie PDAs in the US market. Sony made this decision likely based on poor PDA sales over the last 2 years.

Eventhough their top products are quite expensive, they have pushed the market to bring in more features, such as cameras and larger screens. I've had 2 Clie's, which I really liked. It's sad to see Sony leave the US (for handhelds, of course), but in a HP / Dell / PalmOne market it is getting harder and harder to survive. If you have the $$$, you can continue to get the latest Sony Clie's from Japan, though.
